Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County

 

Mission

The Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County shall serve as a catalyst to promote the benefits of diversity and inclusion through enhancing awareness, supporting networking and sharing best practices.

 

Membership

 

·       Membership is based upon application to be reviewed and approved by a majority of current members.

·       Members must represent organizations demonstrating commitment to managing diversity and advancing inclusion.

·       Each member organization may have two representatives (up to 5 for large employers).

 

Membership Fees

 

An annual non-refundable membership fee will be due on January 31st of each year.  Membership fees will be collected on a sliding scale based on organization size:

·       $100 for organizations with 500+ employees

·       $50 for organizations 51-499 employees

·       $25 for organizations with 50 or less employees

 

Member Benefits

·       Best practice presentations, discussions, forums, and resources on contemporary diversity and inclusion topics.

·       A built-in network of experienced and practicing diversity and inclusion professionals.

·       Access to the member restricted employment opportunities portal, where members can:

o      post employment opportunities

o      display company name, logo, and brief description.

·       Representation on the Consortium Board (and affiliated sub-committees) and the annual Community Roundtable.

·       An opportunity to demonstrate organizational commitment to diversity and inclusion.

 

Member Expectations

 

Carrying Forth the Mission

 

·       Members will carry forth the mission of the Diversity Consortium of Tompkins County within the organizations that they represent and in the community, through active involvement, meeting participation, and consortium governance.

 

Active Involvement

 

Members will be actively involved and engaged by:

·       Participating in the activities, programs, and events of the Consortium;

·       serving on subcommittees or providing event/program execution; and

·       sharing information about meetings, events, and programs to others in your organization.

 

Meeting Participation

 

A member shall be subject to review of their “active” membership status:

·       if they should fail to attend three meetings during a calendar year without notifying the Chair or Co-chair; or

·       if they fail to maintain involvement in assigned responsibilities.
